October at Sierra Cider: Pumpkins, Apples, Cider & Spooky Season
October is one of our favorite times of year at Sierra Cider, and this year we’re kicking off the season with a full month of pumpkins, apples, hay rides, cider, and a little bit of Halloween fun.
Our pumpkin patch opens Saturday, October 3rd, officially kicking off our autumn season here in Mariposa. Throughout the month, visitors can enjoy the farm, grab a drink in our tasting room, and soak up the fall atmosphere at our orchard just outside Yosemite.
Looking for a classic fall activity? Free hay rides will be available during our October events, giving you a chance to take a relaxing ride around the farm and enjoy the scenery. We’ll also be offering on-site jack-o’-lantern carving. Pick out your pumpkin, carve it here, and leave the mess to us! We provide the carving tools and take care of the cleanup, so you can enjoy the fun without having to deal with pumpkin guts all over your kitchen.
And back from the dead for another October is our Graveyard Blend hard cider. This seasonal favorite is made using every apple variety we grow right here in our orchard, creating a cider that is truly a taste of the Sierra Cider farm.
Of course, apple picking continues throughout October, too. Pick as many apples as you’d like for just $3 per pound, with no cover charge or entry fee. Bring your own bag if you can, and come ready to fill it with fresh apples straight from the orchard.
If you're looking for things to do in Yosemite or Mariposa in October, Sierra Cider makes an easy addition to a fall day trip. We’re also a convenient drive from Fresno, Merced, and Madera, making the farm a great destination for a weekend outing or an autumn escape without having to travel too far.
Whether you're visiting Yosemite, exploring Mariposa, looking for a family-friendly fall activity, or simply want to spend a day in the orchard with a glass of cider, October is a great time to visit Sierra Cider.
Come pick some apples, find your perfect pumpkin, take a hay ride, carve a jack-o’-lantern, and raise a glass to fall!
