A once in a lifetime orchard experience where kids unplug, get muddy, and learn real-world skills.

Camp Crabapple turns the Sierra Cider orchard into a hands-on learning playground. Kids harvest fruit, care for animals, press juice, explore wildlife, and create take-home projects, all while building confidence and connection.

This isn’t just childcare. It’s a summer experience rooted in nature, creativity, and community.

If more than one child, fill out registration for 1st child then add to cart, repeat for additional children. After registration we will reach out via email with forms to be completed and further instruction. If purchasing t-shirts, they will be provided at the start of camp.

We understand plans change, our tiered refund policy is designed to be as flexible as possible while holding limited spots.

Cancellations by Families

  • Cancellations made 30+ days before camp start date:
    → Full refund minus a $50 administrative fee

  • Cancellations made 14–29 days before camp:
    → 50% refund

  • Cancellations made less than 14 days before camp:
    → No refund

If Camp Crabapple must cancel a session due to unforeseen circumstances (e.g. weather, safety concerns, low enrollment), families will receive a full refund.

Camp Program Lead

Ashley is our trusted leader. A Mariposa-based breathwork facilitator and author with an MFA from California College of the Arts and over 10 years of experience working with children ages 5–15 in school, studio, and nature settings. A licensed Resource Parent in Mariposa County, she brings trauma-informed, nervous-system care to her work and is deeply rooted in the Sierra Foothills, where she believes children thrive through connection with nature.
Camp Director

Nick brings a strong focus on organization, communication, and day-to-day coordination. As the tasting room manager at Sierra Cider, Nick is deeply familiar with the property and helps ensure camp runs smoothly, safely, and on schedule. An actual Boy Scout, he brings a foundation of responsibility and preparedness, creating a well-run environment that parents can trust and kids can enjoy.

David is a co-owner and operator of Sierra Cider and brings the fun. He combines creativity, cider craftsmanship, and a passion for outdoor living. And as a parent of toddlers, he brings a grounded understanding of what makes experiences both fun and safe for kids. With years of hands-on experience building and maintaining the property, David helps shape an engaging, nature-based environment full of opportunities for exploration and play.
Co-Owner/Operator

Dana is a co-owner and operator of Sierra Cider and brings the safety. With a deep commitment to creating welcoming, family-friendly spaces in the Sierra Foothills, and as a parent of toddlers, she brings a thoughtful, safety-first perspective to every detail of the camp experience. With a background in marketing, hospitality and community-building, Dana creates an environment where children feel comfortable, supported, and free to explore.

Five Immersive Themed Days

  • Monday - From Farm to Snack

    Kick off the week by getting your hands in the soil! Campers will explore Farm at Worman Mills greenhouses and learn how food grows from tiny seeds to the fruits and vegetables we eat every day.

    Children will plant their own seedlings, help care for growing plants, and harvest fresh snacks straight from the farm. Through guided exploration, they’ll discover the importance of farming, where food comes from, and how we can care for the land.

  • Tuesday - From Orchard to Cup

    Step into the orchard and experience the journey from apple to cider! Campers will pick apples right from the trees, sort and prepare them, and see how fresh cider is made.

    Kids will participate in a hands-on cider-making process (non-alcoholic, kid-friendly), followed by fun taste tests and creative activities like designing their own cider label.

  • Wednesday - Earth Day

    A special day dedicated to caring for our planet! Campers will learn about recycling, composting, and how we can reduce waste in our everyday lives.


    The highlight of the day is a real trash truck visit, where kids will see how waste is collected and handled. Campers will also explore nature through simple foraging and create art and useful items from recycled materials.

  • Thursday - Flowers & Pollinators

    Step into the beauty of the flower farm! Campers will explore the flower fields, learn how flowers grow, and harvest blooms to create their own handmade bouquets.

    As a special experience, a local beekeeper will visit with a real observation beehive, giving kids a safe, up-close look at how bees live and work. Campers will see firsthand how bees help flowers grow through pollination, connecting what they see in the fields to the tiny ecosystem inside the hive.

  • Friday - Fire & Water

    End the week with excitement, water play, and real-life heroes! Campers will meet local firefighters, explore a fire truck, and learn important fire safety basics.

    After the visit, the day turns into a fun-filled water adventure with games, challenges, and splash play to cool off and celebrate the week.
